Company History

1949 TOYOTOMI KOGYO CO., LTD was founded by Kazuharu Nakamura.
1952 Began manufacturing of kerosene cooking stoves and other products developed by Toyotomi.
1959 The heat treatment division was separated and reorganized as TOYOTOMI HEAT-TREATMENT CO., LTD.
1960 The division for production of TOYOTA MOTORS auto body parts was separated and reorganized as TOYOTOMI KIKO CO., LTD.
1962 Began manufacturing of steel furniture.
1964 The steel furniture division was separated and reorganized as TOYOSET CO., LTD.
1970 Began manufacturing of electrical heaters and electrical lawn mowers.
1976 Completed the Nukata Plant.
1983 TOYOTOMI U.S.A. INC. was established in Brookfield, Connecticut, USA.
1990 TOYOTOMI KOGYO CO., LTD. was renamed to TOYOTOMI CO., LTD.
1992 Began production of window type air conditioners as well as other summer products at the Headquarter Plant.
1996 Began production of air cleaners.
2000 TOYOTOMI RECYCLE CO., LTD. was established for the purpose of recycling and reusing Toyotomi products.
2007 TOYOTOMI KOGYO CO., LTD. was established as a sales company of Pellet Stoves, etc.
2012 The Meizen Plant was established and TOYOTOMI KOGYO CO., LTD. moved to the plant.
2013 TOYOTOMI EUROPE SALES B.V. was established in the Netherlands.
2014 The total production quantity of the kerosene-fired appliances has achieved 65 million units.
2016 TOYOTOMI RECYCLE CO., LTD. and TOYOTOMI KOGYO CO., LTD. were merged and recognized as TOYOTOMI KOGYO CO., LTD.

Awards

1960 Awarded by the Minister of International Trade and Industry for outstanding performance of industrial standardization and quality control.
1986 Toyotomi received the Consumer Product Development Achievement Award from the National Safety Council in the U.S.A. in recognition of its great efforts to dramatically reduce Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen Dioxide by reburning of emission gases in Double Clean System.
1992 The Headquarter Plant became the first manufacturer to be certified for ISO 9002 for compliance with the requirements of a quality management system in the field of kerosene heaters, room air conditioners and cooling equipment in Japan.
1995 The RCA-1001 portable kerosene heater was awarded the Grand Energy Conservation Prize by the Chairman of the Energy Conservation Center as an outstanding energy-saving product.
1998 The Nukata Plant was certified for ISO9002.
1999 The Headquarters Plant was certified for ISO14001 for compliance with the requirements of environmental standards.
2000 The Nukata Plant was certified for ISO14001.
2003 The Headquarters and the Nukata Plant were certified for ISO9001.
2011 The Headquarters and the Nukata Plant were certified for ISO9001: 2008 and ISO14001:2004 by the integrated examination.
